So, I am now on the final day of my spring break, all of which was spent playing catch up on school. I DID get about ten minutes to play Spiral Knights, which I think all of you should go play right now. Because it's awesome. Kinda reminds me of the gameboy zelda stuff (overhead view).
In other news, SvMK P3 has been on hold for the last month or so. I've worked on only about ten frames, and I'm feeling somewhat beat down on that front. I'm starting to run out of creative ideas, and I don't like using fighting styles from other artists.
As for my other projects that were previously secret, I'm finally going to divulge three categories; What will be 98% likely to happen, what will be seventy-something% likely to happen, and what is almost guaranteed not to happen.
98% and over: Kirby's Dream Adventures (series): This is something that I've been wanting to do for some time. Kirby was my favorite character as a kid, and I just can't wait to try this out. I have ideas flying around my head, but I'm not sure what I'll use yet. All I know is that this is definitely happening.
Videogame Fallout (movie trailer parody/series?): Not even sure what this is going to be yet. I originally thought about making fun of the grand scale of Hollywood effectmovie trailers, but now I'm leaning toward creating a serious little series. This is a confusing one, because I know what the plot would be, but if it turned into a series, I don't know if I could work on something that long. So, this will almost certainly happen, but I'm not sure in what format yet. We'll see.
7something%: Triforce Unleashed: I threw around ideas for a Zelda based thing a couple of times, but I never settled on something I really wanted to do. I think this series would be the story of how Link became connected with the Triforce, but I'm not sure I want to make it. There's already so much Zelda-based stuff out there, and I think it's too easy to rip someone else off without realizing you're doing so.
Kirby Tourney: Another idea I toyed with. From the name, I think it's obvious that it's a tourney with Kirby characters, all of them fighting to be the victor. But again, this kind of thing has all been done before. Bleh.
Starfox Something: What a screwed up thing this is. Starfox is another of my favorite games, but it's something that's hard as all hell to do. I always worry when I start thinking about this about "well crap that's going to alienate every fan there is," etc. etc. Point is, it's just not an easy thing to do. Still, I've had ideas I liked, so I'm not going to toss this one into the circular file just yet.
Virtually not happening: ANYTHING MARIO RELATED. Not kidding. There's so much goddamn Mario crap that I don't feel bad not putting anything from his games on my list of todo. Next please.
Games: I don't program well enough yet. I might look back at this after high school, but I don't really want to go near this until after college. I'm just not talented enough.
Custom Character Stuff: Well, this one my friends have wondered at, since my name is GuitarKirby, which is, in technicality, a custom character. HOWEVER. If you look at it my way, it's just a power for Kirby that hasn't been invented by Nintendo yet. So, outside of Kirby powers, I think I can say that this is a big, fat, N-O.
Now, if you'd like to keep reading, I'll give you some of my ideas about my first mentioned guaranteed work.
Kirby's Dream Adventures is essentially what happened between the games Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (for NES buffs, that's Kirby's Adventure. I'm just using the GBA title) and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. Kirby has defeated Nightmare, and is in a relaxed point of his life. However, before he can truly take a vacation from protecting the world, disaster strikes: Meta Knight is possessed by something strange, which also begins to haunt DeDeDe. With MK as the main villain and DeDeDe as the helper, I feel it would be a nice change of role and make for an interesting story. Of course, DeDeDe maintains control over everything, so he sends minions after Kirby, who fights through all of them to reach the Dream Fountain where they reign from. No spoilers further than that, but I hope people like the ideas!
Finally, I have a favor to ask everyone. I want to hear about some sweet sprite battles, so I can glean some inspiration for the final, climactic episode of Sonic VS Meta Knight!
